Language and Cultural Immersion program promotes and enhances language studies and intercultural exchange aimed at developing long-term international relations and understanding, and exposing our program participants to the tourist and culture sites.
Pan African Youth offices organize home stays for groups and individuals who wish to learn and build upon their French language, English language, or any local languages while being totally immersed in the related African culture. Also included in the program is volunteer work in an orphanage. Pan African Youth's Language and Culture Immersion Program can be incorporated into other programs or university study programs to put your area of studies skills to work and to earn you academic credit. This program includes: language lessons (French or local language lesson), host family program, traditional drumming and dancing, 4 days tour including one night in a typical African village where the program participants are summoned around a locally made lantern to listen to tales, and volunteering for the rest of your stay while practicing the language at your work place, with the people in the community, and with your host family. Participants can volunteer in a variety of areas including: schools, orphanages, law firms, media houses, hospitals, and conservation. This program is currently operating in South Africa, Ghana, Togo and Benin. In September, this program will also be offered in Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia and Senegal.
